>ole Registers Unprecedented Success On Billboard Charts

ole, the "Majorly Indie" music publisher that has enjoyed strong growth and expansion in its brief two-and-a-half-year lifespan, marked its most active week to date with the May 19 edition of the Billboard charts.

Topping the activity in the influential weekly U.S. music industry trade was country star Blake Shelton's new Pure B.S., which includes the Tommy Karlas co-write "What I Wouldn't Give." Shelton's album debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at an impressive No. 2 and the overall Billboard Top 200 at No. 8 with U.S. sales north of 48,000 copies.

ole's other Top 40 album entry came courtesy of High School Musical star Corbin Bleu. whose Another Side -- featuring the David Kopatz co-write "Roll With You" -- secured the No. 36 spot with U.S. first-week sales of 17,000 copies.

Although the Blake Shelton and Corbin Bleu albums were the only new entries to boast ole songs, the Toronto-based music publisher -- with offices in Nashville and Los Angeles -- is resonating its presence on the charts in a wide array of genres.

Just bubbling under the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 -- and still making a huge impact on the Billboard's Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart at No. 6 -- is Akon's Konvicted.

Still going strong after 25 weeks at the U.S. double-platinum sales mark at 2 million copies, Konvicted -- which includes the ole sample of "I'd Be So Happy," recorded by Three Dog Night and written by Lighthouse's Skip Prokop, on the track "Once In A While" -- is one of the biggest 2006-2007 success stories of the year.

The Beyoncé/Shakira duet "Beautiful Liar" continues to make a lasting impression. Co-written by Amanda Ghost -- and exclusively sub-published in Canada by ole on behalf of the Bucks Music Group -- "Beautiful Liar" is hanging on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 24; the Pop 100 singles chart at No. 18; the Pop Airplay chart at No. 19; Hot Digital Tracks at No. 21 and Hot Ringmasters at No. 25. The track is available exclusively on Beyoncé's recently expanded B'Day Deluxe Edition album.

ole can also claim some enduring chart performers in other genres: After 81 weeks and certified RIAA gold sales of 500,000 copies, Chris Botti's To Love Again: The Duets, remains at No. 6 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart, as a CD that includes a duet with Sting of the ole evergreen standard "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?"

On the Top Contemporary Jazz chart, the Kenny G album I'm In The Mood For Love...The Most Romantic Melodies Of All Time is holding at No. 4 after 25 weeks. The album includes the soprano saxophonist's instrumental version of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful," co-written by Amanda Ghost and exclusively sub-published in Canada for the Bucks Music Group by ole.

Also hanging in on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at No. 25 after an impressive 93 weeks is Jason Aldean, whose self-titled album -- featuring the Kim Tribble co-write "Lonesome USA," -- has been a steady seller, surpassing the one-million mark in U.S. sales. The platinum album also remains on Billboard's Top Independent Albums in the No. 13 position.

And Mr. Aldean is about to make ole history in another way: when he releases his follow-up album Relentless on May 29, the project will included another ole/Kim Tribble co-write, "I Break Everything I Touch." Aldean will be the first major country artist to offer an ole presence on consecutive album releases.

In Billboard's Top Pop Catalog department, Tim McGraw's Greatest Hits -- which includes the ole/Keith Follese hit "Something Like That" is still being discovered and replenished by the country superstar's fans. Sitting at the No. 19 position, McGraw's Greatest Hits has surpassed five million in sales and is celebrating its 333rd week -- that's almost six-and-a-half years and counting --as a retail favourite.

As for the rock genre...we're working on it. But as ole Managing Partner Robert Ott observes, the successful songs currently being enjoyed by the Canadian-owned, globally competitive music publisher is a result of hard work and evolution.

"I think it's a natural event that there has been more chart activity for ole then there ever has been," notes Ott.

"I think I'm going to be able to say the same thing this time next year, because we've simply had more time in the game. We've got more people working on it. We have great repertoire and we have more great songwriters and we've had more time to perfect our aggression. So look for more of the same for the coming year."

As ole continues to chart these unprecedented waters, it does so on the strength of its continuing mantra:

Great songs by Great Songwriters + Great Creative = Success
