ole Signs Admin Deal With CCI Entertainment
TORONTO: ole announces the company has entered a worldwide multi-year television administration deal with award winning Toronto-based producers and international distributors Cambium Catalyst International (CCI) Entertainment Ltd.
Under the terms of the agreement, ole -- a Toronto-based, Canadian-owned full service music publisher -- will administer the music rights of all titles currently produced and in development by CCI Entertainment Ltd. during the life of the four-year arrangement.
With a mission to create great television that entertains, engages and fuels the imagination and more than two decades of collective experience under its belt, CCI Entertainment Ltd. has successfully created, developed, produced and distributed more than 40 properties around the world, including animated pre-school TV series, family movies, adult dramatic programming and documentaries. Properties range from the amusing animated series Monster By Mistake and the innovative 3-D animated bug series Erky Perky to the internationally renowned Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs and tween reality thriller Ghost Trackers.
CCI Entertainment Ltd. also offers several cooking and lifestyle programs such as PanAsia, a 26-episode television series spotlighting the cuisine, culture and history of Asia. CCI Entertainment Ltd. is also the exclusive distributor of SCTV, the groundbreaking Canadian comedy series responsible for introducing such film and televisions stars as John Candy, Eugene Levy, Martin Short and Andrea Martin to global audiences.
Annette Frymer, chief operating officer and general counsel for CCI Entertainment Ltd., said the opportunity to partner with ole was too good to resist. "Our programs are played around the world and this is an opportunity for us to capitalize on the music performance royalties that are generated," says Frymer.
Ed Killin, ole's chief financial officer who negotiated the deal, said CCI Entertainment Ltd. took advantage of a unique product that the "majorly indie" Toronto-based music publisher is able to offer independent Canadian film and television producers.
"There are both exciting immediate and long term benefits," notes Killin. " "The deal with CCI Entertainment Ltd., illustrates the immediate benefit to the producer to provide a helpful boost in working capital. Over the long term CCI will benefit from ole's proactive administration of their music rights collections."
Killin notes CCI Entertainment Ltd.'s strong track record in worldwide distribution and says ole is thrilled to have them aboard.
Frankstein's Cat and Daisy Jane are among the CCI Entertainment Ltd. programs currently in production or development.
