SPECIAL EVENTSole-Sponsored Panel a Hit at Nashville Screenwriters Conference
"A number of music supervisors out here in L.A. were flown out to Nashville to do a music component," says Sean Mulligan, director of TV, film and media. "They spoke about how they pick music, what the process is, what they're looking for and current projects." Music supervisor Julia Michels ("Marley and Me," "Sex and the City: The Movie," "The Devil Wears Prada") hosted the panel discussion, which featured fellow supervisors Julianne Jordan ("Hotel for Dogs," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," "Fools Gold"), Dana Sano ("Two Lovers," "Dan in Real Life," "Shoot 'Em Up"), and Darren Higman ("Shark Tale," "Two Weeks Notice," "State of the Union"). It was ole's second year sponsoring the event, which was sold out. "Every year, we bring Hollywood to Nashville," explains Gilles Godard, Chief Creative Officer. "Music supervisors in the trenches doing movies and big-time television programs will play clips from movies they're working on and tell the audience exactly what they're looking for. Nashville embraces that; everybody wants their songs to be in movies and find new placements" |
