ole & SESAC "S.W.I.T.C.H." On Networking Session in Nashville

Twenty-five of the most sought-after, chart-hitting pop/urban writers boarded a chartered bus from Atlanta on Sept. 2 bound for Nashville for a unique collaboration fostered by ole.

The S.W.I.T.C.H. event - an acronym that stands for "SESAC Writers Interacting To Create Hits" -is a first-time collaboration between ole and legendary global performing rights organization, SESAC. The name of the event, held at Ocean Way Studio, is "a play on words meaning switching locations, genres and organizations for those writers participating" says West Coast Creative Director, Qiana Conley.

"I had fostered a relationship with Cappriccieo Scates out of SESAC's Atlanta office," Conley explains. "The SESAC 'S.W.I.T.C.H.' event is Capp's brainchild and a project he spoke about during a meeting we had in Atlanta. We partnered to organize a meet-and-greet activity for the visiting Atlanta writers and invite ole staff and songwriters based in Nashville. ole was the only music publisher connected to the inaugural event and it gave our writers an opportunity to meet and connect with one another, as well as writers from different genres and music cities."

Conley said the luncheon event was attended by 40+ writers and music executives.

For Scates, Associate Director of Writer/Publisher Relations for SESAC, S.W.I.T.C.H. was a way to answer writers' two most pressing concerns: How do I get in the room? And how do I get on the project?

"The general idea is to put select writers together who may not have the opportunity to meet otherwise," Scates says of the project. He says this collaboration could eventually result in an annual conference.
