ole/Roots Three Extend Deal With Steven Lee Olsen On The Heels Of Westlife Cut

ole's Steven Lee Olsen (via co-venture partner Roots Three Music) has landed a cut on the forthcoming Westlife album, tentatively titled Where We Are. The album is slated to feature the Olsen/Carl Falk co-write "Leaving." The Irish boy band was signed by American Idol judge and impresario Simon Cowell and has gone on to become the third biggest selling pop band worldwide and the biggest selling band of the decade (2000-2009). Olsen's cut follows the release of ole's hit song "I'm Already There," featured on the group's last album, Back Home.

Olsen has also joined top pop writer Matthew Gerrard of Kelly Clarkson ("Break Away"), Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) fame to create new material for the project. The collaboration, under arrangement by SYCO Records, came about after Olsen's songs were pitched to A&R by ole's Qiana Conley. "Having established a relationship with David Gray over the years has meant a world of difference in the promotion and introduction of ole writers such as Steven Lee Olsen. Gray & SYCO have become fond of Steven from songs presented to them through ole's efforts, as well as, his own co-writing with key producers—such as Carl Falk—working closely with the label. After furthering Olsen's relationship development by arranging a number of key sessions for Westlife with the likes of notable writer/producers Oak, Evan Bogart & Chuck Harmony, the resulting feedback was that Steven Lee Olsen was becoming a favored writer for this project. The next demand was for Olsen to write with celebrated writer, Mathew Gerrard."

After a banner year in 2009, Olsen is increasingly in demand for collaborations, having landed a cut on Craig Morgan's That's Why album, a Top 20 single on country radio in Canada, a hit video on CMT, a successful 12-week on-line subscription series featuring video performances of songs he has written or covered, as well as, a four-week Canada-wide tour as part of CMT's On Tour project. ole has worked closely with Steven Lee throughout their deal, having sent him on frequent writing trips to the UK, Sweden, Berlin and Los Angeles to work with some of the industries' most successful writers and producers.

"ole has been a great support in helping me further my career as both a writer and an artist. The time they have invested in me as a young writer and the relationships they have helped me create is something I wouldn't have expected from most publishers. I'm proud of what we've done together so far, and I'm excited to continue working together into the future," says Olsen.

Olsen's five song EP titled, Introducing Steven Lee Olsen is available on iTunes.
