NEWS SIGNINGS

Justin Forsley, The Trews, Diamond Rio Sign with ole; Tebey Renews

ole has signed new agreements with songwriter/producer Justin Forsley and recording artists The Trews and Diamond Rio and has extended an existing deal with songwriter Tebey.

Justin Forsley joins ole's writer roster with a number of key songs on projects by Universal Canada artist and ole songwriter Shiloh (Get to You and Strong Enough to Cry), Universal Canada's Massari (single Bad Girl, Breathe, Like Diamonds), Dru (Never Too Late and Changes) and international pop artist Andreea Balan (It). He also co-wrote the theme song for Teletoon's new first live-action television series Majority Rules! Shiloh performs the song.

Diamond Rio has entrusted ole with administration for songs on its latest album, The Reason, released Sept. 22 by Word Records. This 11th offering by the band, follows two decades together, more than 10 million albums sold (three platinum and five gold certifications), four Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year awards and 13 Grammy nominations.

East Coast rockers The Trews join ole for a sync representation deal that will see the band promoted for film, television and other media placements. The band's third and latest album, Friends & Total Strangers, was released Oct. 6 across North America with a companion DVD featuring all-acoustic performances—a departure from a band known for its visceral rock sound. A Canada-wide tour is planned for November and December.

Meantime, ole songwriter Tebey extends his deal with the company for another term. During his initial deal with ole, Tebey has enjoyed cuts by CCMA Rising Star Award winner Tara Oram (Go To Bed Angry), Teairra Mare featuring. Flo Rida (Cause A Scene), Canadian Idol runner-up Rex Goudie (Run), and a No. 1 single for Shawn Desman (Let's Go). Prior to his deal with ole, Tebey—who signed with RCA Nashville as an artist at 17 and was a staff writer for Warner Chappell—co-wrote the Big & Rich song Radio for their 2007 album Between Raising Hell & Amazing Grace.
