ACQUISITIONSole Acquires Catalogue By Top-selling Nashville Artist Richie MacDonald
ole has reached a deal with veteran Nashville artist and writer Richie McDonald to purchase the majority of his catalogue of about 250 songs and administer certain newer copyrights. He is best known as the former lead singer of the band Lonestar. The deal includes a further share of the hit, "I'm Already There" (Lonestar, Westlife, Hiromi Go), a song that ole previously acquired a share of under its purchase of the Frank Myers catalogue. Lonestar's version of "I'm Already There" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs and No. 24 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 2001. Other prominent MacDonald songs include "Coming Home for Christmas" (which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks), "Everything's Changed," "Let them be Little," "Mountains" (which reached No. 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs and No. 77 on The Billboard Hot 100), "Mr. Mom" (a No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs and No. 33 on The Billboard Hot 100), "Simple as That" and "My Front Porch Looking In" (which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs and No. 23 on The Billboard Hot 100). |
