CO-VENTURESLast Gang Publishing Expands Roster with Three New Signings
Egyptrixx is a Toronto artist whose music is informed by elements of techno, house, dubstep and experimental music. David Psutka (aka Egyptrixx) released the EP Battle For North America a few weeks ago and is set to tour extensively in North America and Europe. David makes celestial club music; jeep music for a Saturn Desert. The Globe and Mail called Canadian indie rock band The Burning Hell, led by Mathias Kom, "Canada's Randy Newman and Cole Porter rolled into one." An intriguing description and an even more fascinating line-up to the band that apparently has a rotating cast of up to 14 other musicians with Kom as the constant. Montrйaler Mark Sultan (pka Pepe) has been at the forefront of the garage-rock scene in Montrйal fronting a number of bands including The Almighty Defenders and The King Khan & BBQ Show, a garage-rock duo from Montrйal who mix doo-wop and punk. Mark Sultan is a member here under the pseudonym BBQ with his partner King Khan. Benjamin Chan, head of Film, TV and Game Licensing, notes that Last Gang continues to follow up with the film, TV and game contacts they made in Los Angeles in February while showcasing some of the music on offer from the company for sync licensing. Chan also reveals that Vancouver band Mother Mother is currently in the studio writing and recording with a new album expected this year. |
