ACQUISITONSSinking Ship Entertainment signs to ole for Worldwide Administration
Founded in 2002 but launched in September 2004 by partners J.J. Johnson, Blair Powers and Matt Bishop with Season One of the company's debut series, This is Daniel Cook, Sinking Ship now has programs which air on a handful of networks in Canada and are seen in over 130 countries on 27 different broadcasters internationally. Among the company's most successful children's programs are World Adventure, Are We There, Yet? The Jungle Room, This is Daniel Cook , This is Emily Yeung and Roll Play, the award-winning series that has benefitted from the contributions of original songs written by artists like Broken Social Scene, Patrick Pentland of Sloan, Sam Roberts and Randy Bachman. Sinking Ship's most recent production is this year's Dino Dan, which blends live action with photo-real CGI dinosaurs. The quality of the company's programming is well demonstrated in the accolades which most of its series' have received. This is Daniel Cook has earned three Alliance for Children and Television Awards including Grand Prize for Best Program.
