ole/Roots3 writer Steven Lee Olsen co-write gets Dutch exposure

"Broken Tonight," a co-write of ole/Roots3 writer Steven Lee Olsen was recently performed by Armin van Buuren featuring VanVelzen at the Buma Harpen Gala in the Netherlands after the world-renowned DJ/producer was honoured with the Gouden Harp award, the highest distinction a Dutch artist can receive. The Gala is an initiative of Buma Cultuur, founded by Buma/Stemra, the Dutch organization that represents the interest of songwriters, composers and music publishers in The Netherlands. As an aside, Van Buuren's podcast, State Of Trance, is downloaded by ten million listeners a week.

This follows Olsen's success with the song "Leaving," co-written with Carl Falk and Bryne Christopher which can be heard on the latest Westlife album Where We Are, which has been certified double platinum in the U.K. and triple platinum in Ireland. It was a Top 10 record in Greece, Sweden, South Korea, Ireland and the U.K., where it hit number two on the charts.

In other Olsen news, he has the current single by Open Road Recording's High Valley, "I Will Stand By You," which is in the top 20 on Billboard and CMT and his co-write with Jason Blaine, "Up in Smoke," is included on Blaine's latest album release, Sweet Sundown. Olsen, with fellow ole/Roots3 writers Bruce Wallace and Kaci Bolls, all have tracks on The Higgins' latest release, Dreamers Like Us.

Additionally, Olsen and Doc Walker have the tracks, "Make Hay While The Sun Shines" and "Tailgate Revolution," included on the new Open Road compilation, Summer On The Open Road, which was released June 21. Doc Walker continue their chart attack with their current top 10 radio hit "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me." The video is currently number three on the CMT charts.

Also at ole/Roots3, catalogue writer Kaci Bolls has entered the charts with her co-write "Tailgate" recorded by Jaydee Bixby and Sean Patrick McGraw is set to release the Bruce Wallace co-write "So Called Life" to U.S. radio.
