EMPLOYEESMeet ole's Anna Malinski: Financial AccountantAnna Malinski, who joined the Finance department at ole as Financial Accountant in the spring of 2009, was excited right from the start at the prospect of being associated with the creativity and dynamism of the music business, which she felt offered lots of room and potential for personal growth. Her enthusiasm has not waned in the time since. "I find ole to be an exciting and dynamic company to work for," says Malinski, an experienced Certified Management Accountant with an Honours BA in Economics and Financial Management. "My work at ole is very rewarding. I am involved in many aspects of the business, which allows me to continuously learn and improve. I really enjoy being part of a company that is growing and has such an entrepreneurial spirit." That's something that Malinski, who emigrated with her family from her native Poland when she was 12 years old, knows a little something about. Prior to joining ole, Malinski had been running her own company providing accounting services for small businesses. This followed a varied career in the world of finance during which she provided accounting and analysis for large multinational companies and worked in numerous segments of the financial industry including not-for-profit, retail, investment banking and financial services. Her current vocation owes much to the inspiration of her father, a math teacher, who nurtured his daughter's natural love of numbers by making the learning experience a positive one as he regularly challenged her to solve puzzles that helped demonstrate the practical application of math. That no doubt informs her current work at ole that includes financial statement preparation, budgeting, variance analysis and process improvement. Music appreciation was a family affair as well and, for a time, she did a little guitar playing herself, something to which she would like to return at some point. In the meantime, it's her brother who has become proficient on the instrument. "The people at ole are a hard-working bunch, who also have a lot of fun," says Malinski, whose own good times include traveling, tennis and jogging. "You really feel like you are part of a team here." |
