As Taylor Swift's Fearless recognized as most awarded country album in history, ole picks up four BMI Million-Air awards

Grammy Weekend Wrap-Upole's Chairman & CEO Robert Ott and Chief Creative Officer Gilles Godard were among the friends, family and business associates who gathered for a private dinner in Nashville on March 17th to celebrate a major milestone in Taylor Swift's career as her ole-powered, six-time platinum album Fearless was recognized as the most awarded country album in history.

ole Involved In Four Out Of Five International Album Juno NominationsIn an unprecedented accomplishment for a Canadian independent company, ole is affiliated with four of the five International Album of the Year nominations at this year's JUNO Awards including those for Taylor Swift's Fearless, Black-Eyed Peas' The E.N.D., Britney Spears' Circus and Susan Boyle's I Dreamed A Dream. The 11 total nominations mark the company's best ever showing at the JUNO's.

David Kopatz

David Kopatzole songwriter and producer David Kopatz is currently back in L.A. following a trip to Denmark, the U.K. and Germany organized by ole's Qiana Conley, Elizabeth Spear and the company's co-publishers in that territory, Bucks Music Group and BMG-RM. Kopatz has previously worked with some of the world's hottest pop and R&B artists including Jordin Sparks, Westlife, All-4-One, O-Town, Eden's Crush and Player.

For ole/tanjola multi-million selling songwriter, producer and re-mixer, Alex Greggs, that's some pretty massive recognition when you consider the quality of the musical friends with whom he's been acquainted over the past decade and a half.

tanjolaole/tanjola songwriter and artist Shiloh recently spent several days writing in Vancouver with Brian Howse (Hinder, Daughtry, David Cook, Puddle of Mudd, Boys Like Girls and Hedley), David Hodges (Evanescence, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Dashboard Confessional, Adam Lambert) and duo HipJoint; who share multiple co-writes on Shiloh’s debut album Picture Imperfect.  While in Vancouver, she performed at the Paralympics Torch Relay and had the honour of signing the torch itself. Soon after, she flew to Edmonton to perform for a crowd of several thousand people at The Bounce Birthday Bash, alongside former tour-mates Mariana Trench.  A Los Angeles trip is scheduled for May following the JUNO Awards, at which she’s nominated for New Artist of the Year.

ole President Michael McCarty Targets ISP Liability at CMW Panel Sessionole was well-represented at Canadian Music Week this year as company staffers were seen at various showcase venues around Toronto and at a number of the songwriter seminars and events at the host hotel, the Fairmont Royal York. ole President Michael McCarty somewhat set the tone for the business side of the four day music convention at the opening session on the first day with a controversial but ultimately effective presentation on ISP liability.

ole President Michael McCarty Targets ISP Liability at CMW Panel Sessionole co-sponsored the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) Tin Pan South Preview Party that was held at The Rutledge in Nashville on March 9th. Tin Pan South, the 18th Annual Songwriters Festival will be held in Nashville over five days from March 30th to April 3rd and will feature some of the best singer/songwriters from around the world.

Client Service at the Heart of ole Admin Expansion and Technological Innovation

ole's administration department, headed up by its Senior Director, Jennifer Beavis, has seen remarkable growth since the company's founding a little over five years ago. It's an expansion marked by a constant reassessment of client service, which has seen the company embrace and even customize applicable technologies in search of greater efficiency, establish a U.S. admin presence in Nashville and assemble a team of knowledgeable and experienced music professionals from the world of TV and film administration, publishing and licensing.

ABC's Ugly Betty featured the ole song "Right Here (Dave Audé Radio Edit)" by Carmen Reece in episode 416 which aired on March 17th. Watch the episode here.

Payless Shoes' new Rabbittown ad features the ole song "La Le La La" by Kinnie Starr aired across North America from March 15th through April 4th. Watch the ad here.

Trailers for the new Jennifer Lopez film The Back-up Plan feature the ole song "Miss Independent".

Canon IXY commercials in Japan feature the song "Flash" by Crystal Kay.

The Steven Lee Olsen song "Unbreakable" was featured in a recent episode of Heartland on CBC.

The Canadian Tenors's self-titled album, featuring the ole song "Watching Over Me" (written by J. Lenz, C. Dickens), has spent four weeks at #1 on Billboard's Top Classical Crossover Albums in Canada.

Arthur Buenahora

ole Senior Creative Director Arthur Buenahora, who joined the company just a little more than a month ago, sounds like he's revving the engine and ready to roll. "I'm bringing in two writers that I'm excited about that we're going to get some paperwork done on soon. In the meantime, I'm just trying to jump into the catalog and learn about as many of the songs as I can. I've been on the other side of the desk for a while so I'm just reaching back out and getting to say hello to a lot of people that I used to play songs for. It's been fun reconnecting with them."

James Freeman

James Freeman joined ole in February as Senior Analyst, Acquisitions and though his work and educational background has been in finance, James has long desired a career that combined that practical element of his life with his love of music and the indie rock scene.

NOTES

ole/tanjola songwriter and Universal recording artist, Shiloh, took part in the Young Artists for Haiti project along with some of Canada's top stars including: Drake, Nelly Furtado, Justin Bieber, Tom Cochrane, Avril Lavigne and Jully Black among others. The group recorded a cover version of K'Naan's "Waving Flag", produced by Bob Ezrin. Watch the video here.
