New Roots Three Music/ole Signing Dean Brody Calls Deal 'A Good Fit'
As rising songwriter/recording artist Dean Brody, who has enjoyed chart success on both sides of the border over the course of his first two albums, signed his recent worldwide publishing deal with ole, he characterized the arrangement as a good fit because of ole's multi-genre success and focus. He was looking forward to broadening his songwriting horizons. "I love all kinds of stuff," says Brody, who's currently in the upper echelon of the charts in Canada with his latest single, "Roll That Barrel Out." "Songwriting can get so boring if you just write in the same genre all the time. Sometimes it's just fun to dabble in other things or try and mix genres or not care what you are aiming for just to see where a song takes you. I became a songwriter by just listening."
