ole Canadian Music Publishing Internship Program
TORONTO: ole, is pleased to announce the creation of the ole Music Publishing Internship Program. Ole has launched the program in partnership with its partner the Management Recruiting firm, corso, mizgala + French. We are proud to have had Heela Donsky fill this position during 2005-2006 year as we formally developed this program.
The Program provides the intern with an opportunity to work at the most senior levels with a fast growing global music publisher. Working as an executive assistant to the Managing Partners of ole, the intern is involved in all aspects of the business from acquisitions, to administration, to creative development and to the promotion and marketing of the corporate brand.
The purpose of the Program is to attract bright young people to enter the music publishing business by offering them a unique opportunity to acquire music publishing knowledge and practical experience as the same time. The Program provides an annual opportunity for a Canadian student with an undergraduate degree to work as a paid intern, at the executive assistant level, in the music publishing business. The Program is best suited to individuals who wish to continue their education in the fields of law, business or entertainment management.
According to Heela Donsky, ""Ten years in school could not match the knowledge and experience gained at ole in a single year. I am thrilled that the Internship Program has given me the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest, most innovative and dedicated leaders in this industry. ole recognizes the need to invest in the voices of the future, and this strategy will harvest a crop of the most skilled, experienced professionals."
ole Managing Partner Robert Ott couldn't agree more. "We're committed to hiring the best people and that begins with developing talented, emerging professionals for our industry. Internship Program will enable one of the country's most promising young people to gain in-depth experience in the music business and to develop an all important people network." Ott adds, "In an increasingly complex business and intellectual property rights environment this is a sure way of securing our future."
Steve Mould, Partner, of corso, mizgala + French notes that there is little formal opportunity for students to get this kind of experience in music publishing and adds, "For us this is a tremendous opportunity to see some of the best and brightest graduating into the work force. We have a chance to get to know these people early and build our database."
This Program provides educational institutions the ability to offer their graduates an opportunity to gain real world experience at a very senior level in an area of business that is growing in size and appeal. For the publishing business in general it will serve to attract highly educated individuals with a business and legal training.
