ole Signs 'Restless' Writer Willie Mack
NASHVILLE: ole, the "majorly indie" Canadian music publisher with offices in Toronto, Nashville, Los Angeles and the U.K., is proud to announce the addition of songwriter and aspiring recording artist Willie Mack to its songwriting roster.
A native of Chico, Texas, Mack is a Nashville-based writer who has placed cuts with Collin Raye and Sons Of The Desert, but his biggest credit to date is penning the title track of the million-selling Sara Evans album, Restless.
"It's an honor and a privilege to join ole," said Mack, who counts Gilles Godard (Terri Clark), Wade Kirby (Gretchen Wilson) and Steve Mandile (Tim McGraw) as frequent collaborators.
"I look forward to an exciting year."
Part of that exciting year already includes several song placements on upcoming albums by the Oak Ridge Boys, J.R. Vautour, Shirley Albert and "Entertaining Angels," the tentative second single from the upcoming Mark Wills album scheduled for early summer release.
Mack, who released his debut album Average Guy in 2005, is being shopped to various labels and has already completed 40 songs this year to date.
"Willie Mack's songwriting talent is equaled by his incredible work ethic," says Robert Ott, ole co-founder and managing partner.
"There's a rare kind of honesty in his songs and performance and the world needs more of that!"
The addition of Willie Mack boosts an ole presence in Nashville and a commitment to country music that includes songwriters Gerald O'Brien and Denny Carr; the Keith Follese and Balmur music publishing libraries and the majority of the Encore Entertainment publishing catalogue and a co-venture with Roots Three Music Publishing.
"I became a big fan of Willie's writing and vocals a few years ago as an A&R person with MCA Nashville, " adds Shane Barrett, ole's creative director, Nashville, who will be plugging his material to various Music Row producers and labels assisted by ole Nashville rep Tammy Brown.
"Now that he has signed with ole, I can't wait to work with him every day to achieve the kind of success and recognition he deserves."
