Cyril Rawson began his career in the 1970's as a session guitarist in Toronto. After being signed as a songwriter to various Nashville publishers, he found a home at Balmur Entertainment as a staff writer in 1991. Throughout his eight year stint there he had over 250 songs recorded in Canada, and 26 in the US.

Some of his career highlights include "He Ain't Even Cold Yet", recorded by Gretchen Wilson on her 2006 platinum album All Jacked Up, "She Walked Beside The Wagon" by Lorrie Morgan, and "Just Some Love" by Keith Urban and the Ranch. He also has cuts with Anne Murray, Alannah Myles, Tracy Byrd, Reba McEntire, Jessica Andrews Tanya Tucker and many more.
